Bloomington launches new e-flyer communication tool
Published on December 6, 2016
Bloomington Public Schools has launched a new electronic flyer communication system to improve parent and community engagement. The district is using Peachjar to ensure parents and residents stay informed about activities and events.
School and community partner flyers are now posted online as visually engaging images and emailed to all parents weekly. The system is used exclusively for distribution of district-approved flyers. Flyers can also be accessed by clicking on the Peachjar button on each school’s website.
This green initiative is part of the district’s ongoing efforts to be more environmentally friendly and maintain fiscal responsibility. The move is expected to save tons of paper and reduce related costs, including staff time to prepare take-home folders.
By using Peachjar, the district expects to eliminate the need to print over a million sheets of paper annually, saving nearly 200 trees a year.
Peachjar is free to the district because community partners pay a small service fee to post and distribute eflyers. For more information, visit bloomingtonschools.org/peachjar.
